The Market is Hot!

Things are Different in 2020.

Typically, as we head into fall, things start to slow down with the real estate market. As with many things this year, that has changed. As we head into fall, homes are moving fast. Many houses are getting contracts the same day, with multiple offers on the table. There are several things factoring into this; a lot of people are taking advantage of the low mortgage rates, while others put off home buying in the spring and now is the time to make a move.

As the number of homes on the market decreases, and the mortgage rates are low, buyers are making offers faster to make sure they get the home they want at the desirable rate. “Residential homes are getting offers quickly. The inventory is low, so some of the homes are getting multiple offers right off the bat,” says Lloyd DeFoor, Broker at DeFoor Realty, “If you’ve been on the fence about listing your home,  now is great time.”

As the market stays hot, we got some brag worthy news about our area. Money.com ranked Evans,  Georgia as the number one place to live this year. How did they decide on Evans? They analyzed data, focusing primarily on what it costs to live in a place and the income levels of those who live there. Evans had a relatively low cost of living with a relatively higher income level. They also looked at the money.com diversity scale. The article states it doesn’t just look at demographics, it also looks at measuring segregation by looking at race and income data, block by block. Of course, the great schools, friendliness, hospitals and plethora of things to do in the Evans area also helped boost Evans to the top of the list.
