Strongest Gain In Home Prices in 6 Years

We got a great report from NAR this month that existing home sales rose by 150,000 in April – almost 3.5%. This also contributed to a 10% yearly gain in the sales rate – the strongest since January 2006, according to DSNews.

The median price of an existing home also rose from $161,100 in April 2011 to $177,400 in April this year, a 10.1% increase. The last time a median price was so high was in July 2010.

As we steadily and slowly climb back up the ladder of success in real estate, we need to continue to take pride and pleasure in wins like these. While they may seem small or even temporary, they will enable us to thrive in our markets and represent our clients well.
