Located in the northern part of Columbia County, the lake is known as Clarks Hill Lake by those living on the Georgia side, and it is called Strom Thurmond Lake by those bordering it in South Carolina. Thurmond Lake has many access points in Columbia County, including Mistletoe State Park, Keg Creek, Wildwood Park, the Fort Gordon Recreation Area and many private lake subdivisions.
